I also have a much older pair of Bushell 8 x 32's that are very nice - so nice that I have not been able to find another pair that were as good - never mind better - for less than $1000. But these little beauties are alot less than a grand and better than several models that I have tried that cost between $1000 & $1500. They are wonderful: clear, bright, easy to use and not too heavy to hold and/or carry around. Another nice feature is that for people who wear eyeglasses, there is a bit on each eye cup that twists open allowing one to keep their eyeglasses on. I've never had any luck wearing spectacles whilst looking through the binocs - but it works beautifully with the Alpen Apex 10 x 32 and this way, there's not much adjustment required when hubby - who also wears glasses - and I pass back & forth.
